Meet The Wounded Heart Group Facilitator
Cristina Flippen, RN, BSN, SANE-A, Allender Certificate
Cris is a graduate of the Allender Center Certificate Training 1 in Trauma-Focused Narrative Therapy Program in Seattle. She has led countless women's support groups, including Wounded Heart and Journey Groups, all with the intention of recovering from past traumas and finding hope for the future. She is a Registered Nurse, having worked many years in labor and delivery, followed by 14 years in Women's Health. Currently, she is a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner with UCHealth, serving on the frontlines of sexual trauma.
Cris considers it a privilege to sit with women in a restoration group; listening and attending to their stories. The restoration group is a sacred field where participants travel together and explore personal opinions related to their identity and uncover the souls yearning for more in life: emotionally, relationally, and spiritually. She is humbled to have lead women’s recovery groups for over 14 years. At the end of group she has heard women repeatedly express that they “wished they had committed to the support group process earlier in life”. Her personal participation in a support group was one of the most valued and enlightening endeavors of her life. She was grateful that she did not travel that road alone.
