Axis and Restoration Counseling, two parenting organizations you trust, have partnered together to bring you the parenting resources you need. Together, our aim is to build strong families, bring hope to parents and kids, and build lifelong faith.

Let us journey with you.

Does this describe you?

I need Christian advice in raising my kids that goes beyond just some tips and techniques. I need someone to walk me through this...
I love my kids, but my spouse and I feel like we are doing more damage to them than good. How can we stop harming them but instead start building them?
Something’s happened recently that’s thrown us all off balance. We need someone to guide us through to a healthy resolution.
I want to grow as a parent, but I just don’t know what steps to take. I’ve tried everything I know and we are still stuck. I’m out of ideas.

What if someone came alongside you with fresh ideas, hopeful Christian insight, and proven parenting techniques?

Restoration Parent Coaching is for...

  • parents who know they want more for them and for their children than what they are currently living.

  • parents who have hit roadblocks, challenges, or issues they did not anticipate and refuse to settle for the status quo.

  • parents who are Christians and who believe their primary family responsibility is to raise children who know goodness, wholeness and the fullness of who God created them to be, and yet see them struggling with issues or problems that feel insurmountable.

  • Parent Coaching is not for parents who are "failing," but for those who know asking for help is the bravest move they can make.

Yes, that's me! How do I start?

Step 1

Start the Process
Take the bold step and start the process.

The Initial Parent Coach package includes:

  • 3 specialized one-on-one 45-minute coaching sessions
  • New Client Questionnaire and Personalized Assessment

Start the process by signing up for the Getting Started Parent Coaching Package.

Step 2

Meet with Your Coach
Once we receive your intake information, we will pair you with the coach best suited for your needs.

All coaching sessions are private, confidential and conveniently online.

Step 3

Start the Journey
Together with your coach, you will talk through the issues you are facing, determine some key steps to take, and then implement the changes.

Your coach will follow up, offer encouragement, and help guide you in the joys and fumbles of parenting.

Your coach may also suggest resources (books, articles, videos, etc.) from the online Axis library, free to you.

Step 4

Next Steps
After the initial 3-sessions are complete, you and your coach can determine your next steps. If you need more coaching, you can add an additional 3-session package, or additional sessions as needed.

Theresa Fightmaster

I am a Colorado Native, lover of all things outdoors. I am passionate about deep, authentic relationships. My love for family and grace-filled communication keeps me on the lookout for practical opportunities to connect God's truth with how we live each day of our lives.

I have a MA in Counseling. I started my career working at our local in-patient mental health hospital and have spent the last 18 years working as a counselor in the public schools. I am trained in "Love and Logic" and have facilitated hundreds of parenting groups. My focus is to help parents realize that kids are strengthened through struggles. I have adult children and several grandchildren who are the absolute delight of my life.

BRUCE STANKAVAGE

In my own search for understanding, my narrative radically shifted when at 39 years old (in 2008) I moved my family 3,000 miles to attain a Masters in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology. This was the best and worst decision of my life!

I've been married to Liz for over 22 years, a father of three wild, fun and athletic boys (ranging from 9 to 16), and a student of life. My daily routine is anything but boring based on the many hats I wear -- chauffeur to my boys sporting events, entrepreneur and business owner, mentor, mental performance coach, basketball coach and parent coach.

I am passionate about connecting with people who are looking for a guide to walk alongside them.

My motto in life is - BE INTENTIONAL. Be intentional with your marriage, your relationships, your job, your parenting and all that matters to you in life. My passion is to see parents and kids experience deeper love, grace and connection in any season of life and parenting.

God can redeem everything and anything. There can be new life and healing with any given situation. Coaching can be a life changing tool to bring about the change you wish to see.

I have a MA in Marriage and Family Therapy, am an ordained minister and John Maxwell Coach Certified.

I have been married for 22 years, have an 18 year old daughter and a 13 year old son. I'd love to work with you!

I hurt my child in the past, and I want to restore that relationship. My teen doesn’t even want to talk to me any more, and won’t even open the door to her room.
I’m divorced and my ex is poisoning my son against me. I need help to know how to keep the relationship without fighting fire with fire.
My daughter is getting viciously teased at school, and is starting to withdraw and hate her own body. What can I do to help her navigate this craziness?
I want to lead my children through an intentional rites of passage process, but I don’t want to be cheesy or miss their hearts. Can you help?
I just found inappropriate texts on my son’s phone. What do I do now, and how do I help him make better decisions in the future?
My kid is in college now and is no longer following Christ. Can you help me know how to reach out to her without further alienating her?
The whole school is pressuring my son to “get to third base” with his girlfriend. He doesn’t even know what that means. Can you help me help him?
Despite my efforts, pornography has found its way into our home. What can I do to help my children recover their innocence?

Parents face challenges such as these every day. The list just keeps growing, and we are often unaware or ill-equipped for the task at hand. Let us journey with you through the choppy waters of parenting.

How is coaching different than therapy or counseling?

Coaching is not therapy/counseling. Coaches enter into specific parenting challenges with a focus on resolving issues and offering advice on how to move into a better future. Counseling, on the other hand, looks to the stories of the past in order to understand the realities of the present. While many parents could benefit from counseling, and Restoration Coaches may recommend therapy as an aid toward healing, the focus of coaching is on the struggles faced in the present.

When is Parent Coaching NOT a good fit?

Due to the limitations of virtual coaching, this resource is NOT a good fit when you or your child is in need of immediate medical or mental health crisis treatment. For example, if your child is actively suicidal or threatening to harm themselves, immediately call 911 or take them to the nearest emergency room. Parent Coaching is not designed for those moments of high crisis where immediate intervention is needed. Parent Coaching is also not a good fit for you if you are not willing or able to make changes in your family. Additionally, while many concerns for parents and children stem from marriage-related issues, Parent Coaching is designed to assist in parent-child or parent-parent relationships. If you are looking for help with your marriage, we suggest you contact our counseling department and start the good work of restoring your relationship.

What if I want more than 3 sessions?

At the conclusion of your first month, you and your coach will review next steps. You may decide it’s time to transition to therapeutic counseling (and your coach can make a referral to one of our virtual counselors). If you agree that a few more coaching sessions are needed, you may purchase ala cart sessions for $90 each or another three sessions for $240. However, you and your coach may also agree to successfully complete coaching.

How will I meet with my coach?

You and your coach will schedule three 45-minute sessions to be completed within 30 days (or otherwise arranged). Each session is conducted via a secure (HIPAA compliant) online video conference platform. Your coach will send you a link one day before the session.

What do I need for the coaching session?

Because parent coaching is virtual, you will need internet connection, and a computer with a camera and working microphone (or use headphones with a microphone). Please find a quiet place to meet with your coach. You may be asked by your coach to prepare some pre-work for your session. Please have that completed before your session.

Is coaching confidential?

Coaching is 100% confidential unless there is a report of suicidality, homicidality, or a report of abuse. We intentionally use a HIPAA compliant video platform to further insure privacy.

How do I know the faith position of my coach?

All Restoration Parent Coaches have signed a Statement of Faith (similar to the Apostles Creed) as well as a Position Statement on hotly debated topics of our day. If you would like to review these, please contact us.

I still have a question. How do I get in contact?

We'd love to help answer any questions you have. Feel free to contact our director at chris@restorationcounselingnoco.com, or visit the CONTACT page.
